Lombardini Marine is an internationally renowned Italian company producing four-stroke marine LDW M series diesel engines that are exceptionally light and compact, with very high reliability, durability and low fuel consumption at high engine power. Marine engines are installed on yachts, pleasure boats, longboats, fishing boats and motobots. Motors LDW M have an original, developed and patented by Lombardini company fuel injection system (pump injector) directly into the engine cylinder. Engine cooling has a dual-circuit system (water-water). The overhead camshaft and timing belt reduce noise.

All components and assemblies subject to periodic inspections are located in the upper part of the engine, directly under the cover - this ensures simplicity and low cost of possible engine maintenance.

Lombardini was founded by Adelmo Lombardini in 1922, and in 1933 Adelmo, together with his sons Alberto and Raniero, decided to open his own Lombardini Fabrica Motori plant near the town of Reggio Emilia for the production of engines. Since its founding, Lombardini has relied on the development and implementation of the most modern and environmentally friendly technologies, which is why today the company is a recognized world leader in many areas of modern engine building.

After World War II, Lombardini began producing gasoline and diesel engines. In 1957, the company began production of single-cylinder air-cooled diesel engines, in 1959 the product line was expanded - the first Castoro model caterpillar agricultural tractor appeared.

In 1963, it was decided to build a plant in Pieve. Then there is the opening of foreign branches in France, Spain, Germany, and by the end of the 60s the company gains international importance.

In 1979, the construction of a research center. Later, the production of marine engines of Lombardini, as well as the production of diesel engines of water cooling, is established. The company continues to grow, and in the 90s, Lombardini acquired Acme in Valdobbiadene. The company strives to improve product quality and improve its products and in 1999 acquired Ruggerini Motori, the main competitor of Lombardini. In 2007, Lombardini was bought by Kohler Co ..
