Silverton History

Silverton Marine, a small family shipyard, was founded in 1969 in Arlington by the Lurs brothers John and Warren. The company started with simple inexpensive yachts, over time it managed to grow into a serious player in the segment of small cruisers such as Convertible, suitable for both leisure and sea fishing.

In 2010, products from Silverton Marine and its sister companies Mainship and Luhrs accounted for 5% of the US domestic market in this segment. The shipyard is also known outside the homeland, with about 80 dealers in 40 countries. However, during the global economic crisis of the late 2000s, when demand for luxury boats plummeted, the company, as a whole, the entire Morgan Industries group, which it was then part of, began to experience serious financial problems, and, in the end, was involved into bankruptcy proceedings. In February 2012, Silverton Millville was closed. However, thanks to the efforts of Egg Harbor Yachts, which bought it back in 2012, the company resumed production.

Silverton Yachts are assembled at Millville, New Jersey, on the east coast of the United States. The company is constantly improving production technology and is open to the latest achievements of the industry, but at the same time strives to maintain the best production traditions of the past. Computer simulation and questioning of target user groups are actively used.

Today Silverton produces 13 models from 9.9 to 15.7 m long. Flybridge cruisers are represented by the Convertible, SportBridge and MotorYachts lines; hardtop options are implemented in the SportCoupe family; apart are the T-series yachts - sport phishers, boats for sport sea fishing, popular on the east coast of the USA. Some models are available in both luxury and basic configurations.
